The 8th Annual Farm Tour was hosted by the Highland County Farm Bureau and Highland Soil and Water Conservation District Sept. 17 with two local farms (Maplecrest Farms and Dead Broke Farm) as stops for the event. FFA Chapters served lunch to all 78 attendees during these stops as well.
At the first stop, topics covered were beef production strategies, management of annual forages, and profitable farm diversification. At the second stop, additional topics such as farm pond management solutions, how to manage black vulture damage, and pastureland conservation practices were covered.
