Central State University Extension will host “Greening Your Landscape with Native Plants” with guest speaker Marianist Environmental Education Center Land Resource Manager Michelle Banker.

The Marianist Environmental Education Center is an environmental education center. In 1994, MEEC established nurseries to protect, propagate and distribute local genotypes of native plants that today totals over 350 species, including 12 listed as threatened, potentially threatened or endangered in Ohio. MEEC has grown nearly 60,000 plants for restoration.

Participants will learn ways to improve landscapes with native plants that conserve water and provide habitat for wildlife. Information will be shared on planting bird, bee and butterfly gardens as well as replacing invasive species with native plants.

The program is free for adults over the age of 18.

Registrations are requested and can be made by calling CSU-Xenia at 937-376-6694.
