The new year is a great time to reassess your woodland’s potential and explore opportunities to make your land less “taxing.”

At the Jan. 25 Woodland Wednesday meeting, get a closer look at the Ohio Forestry Tax Law and the Current Agriculture Use Value programs available to landowners with qualifying property. Featured speakers Leah Curtis, policy counsel & sr. director of member engagement, Ohio Farm Bureau Federation; and David Thomas, Ashtabula County auditor will review the history, improvements, eligibility, and requirements of these tax-saving programs to get you on the path to better stewardship and more savings.

This online program is free, but registration is limited and required by Jan. 24. Register online or contact Geauga SWCD at [email protected] or 440-834-1122.

Collaborators include Natural Resources Conservation Service; Geauga, Lake, Ashtabula, Portage, and Trumbull Soil and Water Conservation Districts; Division of Forestry; Farm Bureau, and Holden Forests and Gardens.
