Five speakers from the farm industry and from The Ohio State University College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences will help attendees broaden their understanding of the possibilities for using robotics, artificial intelligence and related technologies to improve food production.

Speakers will give a variety of perspectives, from food and animal production to family, community, and environmental impacts, and will answer questions from the audience.

The topics and speakers:

  • “Robotics in Agriculture: Where Are We Headed?” by Scott Shearer of the CFAES Department of Food, Agricultural and Biological Engineering (FABE)
  • “Robotics in Greenhouse Production” by Peter Ling of FABE
  • “Robotics in Animal Production” by Mark Dotterer of Rittman’s RMD Dairy Farm 
  • “Sustainability: Social, Economic, and Environmental Implications,” featuring Casey Hoy of the CFAES Department of Entomology on smart foodsheds and Shoshanah Inwood of the CFAES School of Environment and Natural Resources on family and community impacts 

Admission is a $1 donation to CFAES student scholarship funds, and is free for students.
