Monday started like last Monday, flu still hanging on. Made a trip to the doctor's office, changed medicine. Checked grain prices on the over night, some profit taking on the board of trades. The day trade saw more weakness with corn, soybeans and wheat.

More profit taking on Chicago board of trade as prices slide a little lower. Made some calls about used trucks to replace old semi tractor to haul grain to market. The bug fought back hard -- had chills this morning.

More profit taking on Chicago board of trade as prices slide a little lower. Went today and bought a truck after looking for the past year. I made a test run with a load to check out how it performed before buying it.

Grain prices slide a little lower today, lost 30 cents a bushel on corn, which means with 150 bushel per acre yield, the loss amounts to $45 per acre. Soybeans dropped 40 cents per bushel, on 50 bushel per acre soybeans, a $20 per acre loss. Wheat dropped 60 cents per bushel with a 50 bushel per acre yield means a loss of $30 per acre. I hope this trend will change soon.

Friday grain price stabilized maybe the profit taking is over with. The people I purchased the truck from called and said the truck is ready to pick up. I told them I would be up on Saturday to pick it up.

Saturday, January 8, 2011

Went to pick the truck up. Weather worse up north of us, lots of blowing snow. Route 127 snow covered in places, made the drive up and back real fun. Got home all right with no serious problems.

Sunday, January 9, 2011

Went to church. Went out to the farm and checked things out. Later watched a football game.
