Tom & Bev Theobald, Barn-n-Bunk Farm Market

Barn-n-Bunk Farm Market is a family-owned and family-operated business established by Tom and Bev Theobald in 1992,  Other family members now involved in a full time capacity include son Brian Theobald and son-in-law Scott Meade.  Daughter Kelly Meade is a key member of our Sunday Brunch Buffet team.  Son Craig Theobald is the advisor/employee for electrical matters.  We also have 5 grandchildren working in parttime capacities.

Our family has a history with this farm, beginning in the 1930's.  Tom's grandparents and his father lived here and grew potatoes; those were sold in Middletown.  Later, in 1941, Bev's parents moved here as they started a family.  Bev's dad, Clifford Kennel, was a dairy farmer and farmed about 95 acres in corn and hay crops to support the dairy cows.

In 1974, Tom and Bev moved into the farm house to raise their family.  They started a flock of Suffolk sheep, mostly to provide a meaningful 4-H Club experience for their three children.  At this time, Brian and wife Suzi live in the farmhouse with their three children.

The Barn-n-Bunk Farm Market is open daily from April to Dec. 23.  We farm 35 to 40 acres to provide fresh vegetable crops for the market.  Our crops include asparagus, fresh peas, onions, beets, green beans, sweet corn, pumpkins, and gourds, etc.  By far, the largest crops grown are the green beans, sweet corn, and pumpkins.

Our market includes three barns, two originally built around 1900 and one built in 1893.  Two of those barns were moved here to enhance our business.   We offer fresh fruits and vegetables, processed foods such as jams, jellies, honey, mixes, etc.  We also have gift items, crafts and antiques on consignment from 45 local crafters.  We have a deli featuring Amish meats and cheese.  Our Ice Cream Barn features 16 hand dipped flavors of Velvet Ice Cream, an Ohio Proud company from Utica, Ohio

On Sundays, we serve a Brunch Buffet in the 1893 Barn.  Monday through Saturday, our 1893 Barn is used for special private events including weddings and receptions.

Fall Festivals and weekend special events are also planned throughout the year.  Our events and special features can be seen at www.barnnbunk.com.
