Look for Farm Bureau at the county fair July 13-19

Published May. 5, 2014 | Discuss this article on Facebook

Farm Bureau and the county fair go hand-in-hand. Both have a strong commitment to educating the public about the importance of agriculture. This year, Farm Bureau is renewing that emphasis by expanding its presence at the Crawford County Fair.

The Whetstone Building is a great tool to reach fair-goers. In 2014, the Farm Bureau Family Funbuilding will undergo a revitalization to provide a more interactive, more organized agricultural education area. Modeling the building after the Nationwide Donahey Ag and Hort Building at the Ohio State Fair, Crawford County Farm Bureau aims to reach more guests with a positive message about agriculture in our community, state, and nation.

To help facilitate the exhibits and activities, Farm Bureau plans to hire paid interns to manage the building. Interns will promote a positive image of agriculture and will provide a memorable experience for fairgoers.  If you or someone you know is interested in this short-term internship, please email a resume and cover letter to Tim Hicks at thicks@ofbf.org. A full job description is posted here.

Farm Bureau will also continue its support of the fair in other ways, including through sponsorship of junior fair awards and through supporting the rodeo, a new fair event  for 2014. If you have not done so already, like Crawford County Farm Bureau on Facebook and watch as the fair approaches for a rodeo ticket giveaway.

The 2014 Crawford County Fair will be held July 13-19.
