Singing up for a CSA share with Fresh Fork Market couldn’t be easier.

Fresh Fork Market, recently featured in Our Ohio magazine, has been connecting farmers and consumers since 2008. The company was spawned by Trevor Clatterbuck and a team of colleagues in an effort to bring foods from small farms and make them readily available to consumers demanding local foods.

Similar to the increasingly popular Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) programs where consumers buy a share and get food delivered straight from a specific farmer, Fresh Fork Market takes the idea a step further and partners with several farmers to create a package of farm fresh foods that can be incorporated into a complete meal.  The company offers weekly subscriptions, with the smallest being $25 per week.Since its start, Fresh Fork Market has grown from supplying 40 customers to an estimated 2,500 in 2012.

The food supplied from 100 local farms is distributed from the back of refrigerated trucks to 16 pick-up locations throughout the Cleveland area.

“We’ve had a very positive impact on family farms, and it’s exciting that we are bringing people back to the dinner table,” said Clatterbuck.
