Tom O'Neill, a Fulton County farmer, is harvesting 10 acres of carrots to be donated to various Ohio food banks. Orders have been requested for over 200,000 pounds of carrots from 12 Second Harvest food banks across the state.

On Thursday, November 19th, the Cleveland Food Bank received the first shipment of 40,000 pounds of carrots, to be distributed just in time for the holidays.

The Cuyahoga County Farm Bureau will cover the cost to transport the load of carrots from the field to the Cleveland Food Bank.

Note: the carrots were put in potato bags for shipping
