Congratulations to two Frank B. Sollars/Farm Bureau Scholarship Winners

The Frank B. Sollars/Fayette County Farm Bureau awarded Nicole Straathof a $1,500 scholarship.  Nicole is a graduate of Miami Trace High School.  Throughout her high school career, Nicole was very active in 4-H, FFA, volunteered as a teacher’s assistant for Head Start.  She also volunteered for “Adopt-A-Family Donation”, “Ohio FFA Leadership Night”, church activities, and the list goes on and on.  Nicole displayed a variety of entrepreneurial skills in sheep and horse pasture board businesses and landscaping and wreath selling.   She is a very busy and accomplished young lady.  She will be attending the University of Kentucky and plans to study food science and technology.  Nicole is the daughter of Nico and Elzbieta Straathof of Washington Court House.

The Frank B. Sollars/Fayette County Farm Bureau awarded a $500 scholarship to Tyler Lower.  He is a graduate of Miami Trace High School.  During his high school career, Tyler played football, worked with FFA, built grain bins, and planted trees for Crop Production Services.  He also took care of and showed hogs where he earned many plaques and ribbons.  Tyler plans to continue his education at the University of Northwestern Ohio where he will be studying to become a diesel technician.  Tyler is the son of Mike Lower of Jeffersonville.
