On April 26, 2013, Mary Ellen Grafton from the Jefferson County Farm Bureau visited Jefferson County Christian School to share an agricultural scavenger hunt with students in 3rd through 6th grades.  Students learned facts about agriculture in Ohio and were able to answer questions such as:

  1. A FAMILY OF FOUR COULD LIVE FOR ____ YEARS ON THE BREAD PRODUCED BY ONE ACRE OF WHEAT.
  2. HOW MANY GLASSES OF MILK CAN A DAIRY COW PRODUCE IN ONE DAY?  ________
  3. HOW MANY YARDS OF WOOL ARE IN A BASEBALL? _____
  4. ONE BEEF COW PRODUCES ENOUGH HAMBURGER FOR ____________ QUARTER POUND HAMBURGERS!

Before she left, Mrs. Grafton presented the librarian with the 2013 American and Ohio Farm Bureau Book of the Year, "The Guardian Team"
