OUR OHIO MAGAZINE SPOTLIGHTS ANN’S RASPBERRY FARM
Those interested in learning about a great local source for berries and homemade jams should read the latest issue of Our Ohio magazine. This month’s issue features Ann’s Raspberry Farm and Specialty Crops, a business run by Dan and Ann Trudel of Fredericktown.
The Trudels are committed to offering a quality product and pay attention to small details, such as stacking their berries one by one to keep them in good condition before they get to market. One of their biggest struggles is keeping up with demands for their award-winning products.
“We cannot grow enough berries and we cannot make enough jam and it’s been like this every year. At the end of the day, it really creates anxiety about ‘Oh my gosh, how are we going to meet the demand’ ” said Dan.
The couple plans to expand the business with a second high tunnel for berries next year. Their raspberries and jams can currently be purchased online, at Weiland's Gourmet Market in Clintonville, Celebrate Local at Easton Town Square, Local Roots in Wooster, and a variety of Central Ohio farmer’s markets.
