The Lawrence County Farm Bureau recently supported a project in Lawrence County called "Wreaths Across America".  This project is nothing new in Lawrence County, however, it is new for the Farm Bureau.

For those who are not familiar with this project, every December remembrance wreaths are laid in Woodland Cemetery to honor fallen Veterans.  This project is to remember the fallen, honor those who served and their families, and teach our children the value of freedom!

This year the celebration will be held on December 14 at noon in the Woodland Cemetery.  Everyone is welcome to participate in the laying of the remembrance wreaths.

Last year there were 300 wreaths purchased.  This year they would like to purchase 600 wreaths!!  That would allow them to lay a wreath on each grave, instead of doing every other one.  This year  the Lawrence County Farm Bureau purchased the first 50 wreaths for the group to get them started, however, they are still a long way off from their goal!

The cost of a wreath is only $15.  If you would like to donate to this wonderful project you may do so by making your check payable to: Wreaths Across America, and drop off at Ohio River Bank, now known as Citizens Deposit Bank, on Railroad Street.
