Our Ohio Magazine Spotlights Marion County Follow Farming Project

Published Mar. 9, 2012 | Discuss this article on Facebook

Consumers interested in learning more about how their food is produced should read the latest issue of Our Ohio magazine.  The March/April 2012 issue features the Follow Farming project developed by a group of Marion County Farm Bureau members to unveil the day to day activities of farming and keep an open line of communication with consumers.

The project, initiated in 2011, encourages two-way interactions between farmers and consumers by using Facebook, Twitter, a blog and videos to share detailed, behind the scenes information.  For the next six months the project will follow Scott Isler and his family at the Isler family hog farm near Prospect.

"We're going to show aspects of the pig from birth through its life on the farm all the way to market," said Isler.  "We're going to show the care and what we do from day to day."
