This year at the Perry County Fair, Perry County Farm Bureau held its annual ice cream eating contest.

Every year, kids of all ages come out to participate in this fun, delicious event!

This year we had more kids than we could've hoped for. This may have been due to the fact that there was a small monsoon of a rain storm flooding the fairgrounds while we were under cover doing this event. Either way, we were glad to have so many out. After all of the kids were done, we even held a contest for the adults while we waited out the storm.

We had four classes of the competition: 3-4 year olds, 5-8 year olds, 9-12 year olds and 13-18 year olds. The first to finish in each class received $5, second received $3 and third received $2. The 3-4 year olds had to compete by eating 2 small ice cream cups. The 5-8 year olds had to finish off 3 cups. The 9-12 year olds had 4 cups and the 13-18 year olds had to eat 5 cups of ice cream!

Our 1st place winners in all of the categories are as follows:

3-4 year olds - Carter Sellards

5-8 year olds - Carter Mottley
9-12 year olds - Breanna Lawrence
13-18 year olds - Brandon Joseph

We appreciate the continued support of the fair to host this contest on Farm Bureau Day at the Fair. We hope you all enjoyed the free ice cream!
