How Facebook and Twitter Fits Farming and Family: A hands-on workshop

A hands-on workshop to get you started using social media.  Interact with the instructor and other students to practice and use these fun and useful tools.

To make most efficient use of the social media training period, we will not be covering the basics of creating your accounts. Please take time to sign up for these free Facebook and/or Twitter accounts prior to arriving at the Feb. 23 training session. Instructions on signing up for accounts on each are included below:

To get started on Facebook:1. Go to www.Facebook.com and under “sign up,” enter your full name, e-mail address, a password, gender and birthday, then click on sign up. 2. You’ll then have to enter in the two words shown in a graphic on the screen for security purposes. 3. You’ll then receive a verification e-mail which is sent to the e-mail account you used when signing up. Go to your e-mail and verify the account.

4. You’ll then be returned to Facebook where you can follow the next steps to filling out your profile, finding friends and getting started. 5. Find our Facebook accounts at the following links. Become a fan of each by clicking the “Like” button at the top of each page .•        Facebook.com/OhioFarmBureau •        Facebook.com/OurOhio •        Facebook.com/YoungAgProfessionals

To get started on Twitter:1. Go to www.twitter.com and click on “Sign up” on the right side of the page. 2. You’ll have to enter your full name, then the user name you want to use.You’ll also need to type in a password and your e-mail, then click “Create my Account.” 3. To find Ohio Farm Bureau, go to twitter.com/OhioFarmBureau and click on “Follow” top receive our updates. 4. You may also search for and follow twitter.com/OurOhio, twitter.com/BuckeyeFarmNews and twitter.com/TownHallOhio.
