Ross County Farm Bureau is hosting an Oil and Gas Leasing Meeting.

The briefing will be held at the Pickaway-Ross Career and Technology Center May 8th at 7 p.m.

The program will be facilitated by Ohio Farm Bureau Director of Energy Services, Dale Arnold.

During the course of this meeting, Arnold will discuss current energy trends, new drilling technology, remediation standards, general payment provisions and other provisions that are need to create effective lease agreements.

There has been much discussion in the community concerning landowners being approached by oil & gas leasing companies. If you have been approached or have questions about the new demand for oil & gas exploration in Ohio, this will be a meeting you won’t want to miss.

Long-term energy demand and new drilling technology have sparked interest in tapping into the Marcellus and Utica Shale deposits in parts of the Appalachian plateau, including many areas of eastern and central Ohio. It is estimated that methane and methane liquids in these deposits can address major requirements for fuel well into the second half of this century.” according to Arnold.
