It is hard to believe that harvest is winding down and snow will soon be upon us.  We have had a very productive year at the Wyandot County Farm Bureau.

We had a busy and fun Wyandot County Fair.  We hope you were able to stop by our booth in the Merchant’s Building.  We had free peanuts and a “Plinko” game that tested your agriculture knowledge.  It gave us many opportunities to talk to fair goers that were unfamiliar with farming to share with them not only the answer to the  “Plinko” question, but also help them better understand what we do on our farms.  Many kids (and adults) are now several generations removed from the farm and don’t always understand what we do in modern day agriculture.  It is up to us to help spread the word about our profession.

We had a very well attended “Fun with Farm Bureau” at the fair.  Although, no frogs were entered in the frog jumping contest, there is always next year!

We also had a very nice annual meeting this year.  We have already started making plans for next year’s meeting and hope to make it more family friendly.  If you have any suggestions please do not hesitate to pass them on to me or any other board member.

We hope to take on more activities as we move into this new program year.  We are always looking for volunteers to help.  If you or someone you know is interested in getting more involved we encourage you to do so.  Please consider talking to any of our board members if you are thinking about getting more involved.I just want to take this time to thank you for being a member and ask one favor.  Consider asking someone you know that shares your same values to join our organization.  Together with others our voice is stronger than on our own.

Sincerely,

Jack Leslie, President
