COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Ohio Farm Bureau Foundation has announced that William Dolan, recently retired CEO of the Children’s Hunger Alliance in Columbus, will be the honoree for the organization’s 2009 Golf Invitational to be held June 22 at Jefferson Golf and Country Club in Blacklick.

Dolan helped the Children’s Hunger Alliance develop partnerships with government agencies, schools, child-care providers and charitable organizations. Children have benefited from alliance efforts that led to increased opportunities to participate in school breakfast and lunch programs, the growth of meal programs to feed children at home-based day-care businesses and the expansion of programs to offer meals and snacks to kids during summer, when school meals are unavailable.

“Bill has been one of Ohio’s leading advocates for food assistance programs for children,” Foundation President Jack Fisher said. “Children’s Hunger Alliance has become a model for non-profit organizational efficiency, with 94% of all funds going directly to programs and services.”

The Ohio Farm Bureau Foundation is a 501(c) 3 public charitable organization that supports agricultural education, ecological research and economic development initiatives benefiting Ohio communities. The organization’s annual Golf Invitational honors leaders in science, business and community service whose careers and accomplishments personify Foundation objectives. Proceeds of the event as used to support the organization’s Community Grantsmanship and scholarship programs.
