Schumm Re-Elected Trustee of Ohio Farm Bureau Federation

COLUMBUS, Ohio (OFBF) – Mike Schumm of Willshire was re-elected to his fourth term as a state trustee of Ohio Farm Bureau Federation (OFBF) during the organization’s annual meeting Dec. 1 to 3 in Columbus. Schumm represents Farm Bureau members in District 5, which consists of Allen, Paulding, Putnam and Van Wert counties.
He is a 30-year member of the Van Wert County Farm Bureau and has served as county president, membership chairman and government affairs committee chairman.
At the state level, he has served on the Ohio Farm Bureau Envisioned Future committee and sat on OFBF’s line fence law task force. Schumm has been active with the Zion Lutheran Church and 4-H.
Schumm farms with his wife, Robin, his father, Frederick, and two brothers, Marlin and Maurice. Their diversified operation produces corn, soybeans, wheat and hay and includes hogs, beef cattle, a dairy and laying hens. He and Robin are the parents of three sons.
Ohio Farm Bureau Federation is the state’s largest farm organization. OFBF is influential as a public policy advocate and in public relations for agriculture. Its mission is to forge a partnership between farmers and consumers.
