Baker Elected to Ohio Farm Bureau Board

COLUMBUS, Ohio (OFBF) – Roger Baker of Wooster has been elected District 8 trustee for the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation (OFBF). He will help govern the state’s largest general farm organization and represent Farm Bureau members from Ashland, Medina, Summit and Wayne counties.
Baker fills the seat previously held by Bob Slicker who retired after 12 years on the board.
He is a graduate of Ohio State University Agricultural Technical Institute with an associate’s degree in agricultural business and agronomy. He and his wife, Diane are the parents of a daughter. They raise row crops and hay and also have a small beef cow herd.
A 21-year member of Wayne County Farm Bureau, he has served as a county board trustee and chairman of the public policy committee and is a past vice president of the board. He was an OFBF Discussion Meet finalist in 2001 and participated in a trade mission to Europe in 2000. In addition he has served on the Wayne County Extension Advisory Committee, the state Extension Advisory Committee and is a board member of the Ohio Forage and Grasslands Council. He is a member of Ripley Church of Christ.
