COLUMBUS, Ohio (OFBF) – The Ohio Farm Bureau Federation (OFBF) topped the list of award winners announced at the American Farm Bureau Federation (AFBF) annual meeting in San Antonio, Texas. The awards recognize outstanding programming in five categories: Agriculture Education and Promotion, Leadership Development, Member Services, Policy Implementation, and Public Relations and Information.

Ohio was the only state to win the combination of the Pinnacle Award, four President’s Awards and five Achievement Awards.

The newly created Pinnacle Award was presented for overall outstanding program achievement combined with membership growth. The President’s Awards are the “best of the best” awards presented for excellence in each of the five program areas to states by membership category size. Ohio qualified for the President’s Award by receiving the Achievement Award in all five program areas.

OFBF President Brent Porteus, speaking to Ohioans in attendance at the meeting, complimented county Farm Bureaus for their exceptional service to their members, saying it was their work which led to Ohio’s high level of recognition at the AFBF convention.
