COLUMBUS, Ohio (OFBF) – Winchester resident Kristy Watters is one of 19 farmers and agribusiness professionals who recently graduated from Ohio Farm Bureau Federation’s (OFBF) AgriPOWER Institute, Class VI.
Farmers are being encouraged to complete the requirements of Ohio’s Agricultural Fertilizer Applicator Certification Program.
COLUMBUS, Ohio (OFBF) – Haley Davis of Bucyrus has joined Ohio Farm Bureau Federation’s field staff to help support county Farm Bureaus in their operations. Davis, who was hired in anticipation of future staffing needs, will be training under Tim Hicks, organization director for Crawford, Delaware, Marion, Morrow, Richland and Wyandot counties. Her duties will be helping leaders strengthen county Farm Bureaus through program development and implementation and identifying ways to serve members and their communities.
Ohio House Bill 61, aimed at reducing nutrient runoff in the Western Lake Erie Basin (WLEB), has earned the support of the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation (OFBF).
COLUMBUS, Ohio (OFBF) – Increases in farmland valuations will be reduced following the Ohio Department of Taxation’s decision to enact administrative changes to the Current Agricultural Use Value (CAUV) formula recently proposed by the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation (OFBF).
COLUMBUS, Ohio (OFBF) – Ohio Farm Bureau Federation’s (OFBF) Young Agricultural Professionals (YAP) raised $5,177 for Mid-Ohio Foodbank by selling T-shirts that carried positive messages about Ohio agriculture. Ohio Farm Bureau’s board of trustees voted to add an additional $5,000 to the donation, raising the total to $10,177.
COLUMBUS, Ohio (OFBF) – The Ohio Farm Bureau Foundation continues to develop programs to help smaller, community-based groups. To that end, the foundation has awarded a series of Agricultural Action and Awareness Grants for the 2015 program year.
COLUMBUS, Ohio (OFBF) – Jordan Hoewischer of Hilliard has been named Director of Water Quality and Research for the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation (OFBF). He fills a newly created position that is part of OFBF’s $1 million Water Quality Action Plan, which aims to protect Ohio’s water resources and preserve farmers’ ability to produce food.
