Vincent Selected to Participate in Intensive Agricultural Leadership Program

COLUMBUS, Ohio (OFBF) – East Canton resident Kris Vincent is one of 19 farmers and agribusiness professionals selected by the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation (OFBF) to participate in the 2011-2012 AgriPOWER program. Vincent works as the maintenance supervisor at Malone University, is a Stark County Farm Bureau member, is very active in the cattlemen’s organization at the local, state and national levels and, with his wife, has a cow-calf beef operation where he utilizes rotational grazing.

Wildman Selected to Participate in Intensive Agricultural Leadership Program

COLUMBUS, Ohio (OFBF) – South Charleston resident Carol Wildman is one of 19 farmers and agribusiness professionals selected by the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation (OFBF) to participate in the 2011-2012 AgriPOWER program. Wildman serves as a church musician and director, home schools her children, is a Clark County Farm Bureau member and, with her husband, has a 650 sow farrow-to-finish operation and raises 600 acres of corn and soybeans.

Campaign Management Seminar Prepares Potential Candidates

COLUMBUS, Ohio (OFBF) – Ohioans who are considering running for public office are invited to attend a campaign management seminar hosted by the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation (OFBF). The seminar is Sept. 8 and 9 at the OFBF office in Columbus and will prepare potential candidates for winning elections at the local, state and federal levels. Spouses and campaign managers are welcome.

Ohio Farm Bureau Applauds Repeal of State Estate Tax

The repeal of Ohio’s estate tax will benefit family farms, small businesses and Ohio’s economy according to the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation (OFBF). The elimination of the “death tax” will preserve farms and businesses as they are passed from one generation to the next while retaining jobs and taxes in local communities.

Farm Bureau applauds passage of animals at large law

Ohio livestock producers now have important legal protection if animals escape through no fault of the farmer with the passage and enactment of House Bill 22. The legislation, a priority issue for the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation (OFBF), passed the Ohio House and Senate unanimously.
