Weaver Wins OFBF Excellence in Agriculture Contest

COLUMBUS, Ohio (OFBF) - Jenifer Weaver of North Jackson has been named the winner of the Excellence in Agriculture Award by Ohio Farm Bureau Federation (OFBF). She will represent Ohio in the national competition during the American Farm Bureau Federation annual meeting in Atlanta in January.

Ohio Farm Bureau Kicks-off Third AgriPOWER Institute Program

COLUMBUS, Ohio (OFBF) - Twenty Ohioans interested in becoming future leaders and advocates for Ohio agriculture have been selected by the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation (OFBF) to participate in its 2010-2011 AgriPOWER institute. OFBF launched AgriPOWER in 2008 as an elite training program. The yearlong program consists of seven two-to-three-day training sessions that focus on public policy issues confronting agriculture and the food industry.

Bell Selected to Participate in Intensive Agricultural Leadership Program

COLUMBUS, Ohio (OFBF) - Zanesville resident Matt Bell is one of 20 farmers and agribusiness professionals selected by the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation (OFBF) to participate in the 2010-2011 AgriPOWER program. Bell is employed by Bell Farms Ag, LLC with a farm operation of 950 sows farrow to finish and 1,600 acres of corn and soybeans.

Bodimer Selected to Participate in Intensive Agricultural Leadership Program

COLUMBUS, Ohio (OFBF) - Gallipolis resident Jake Bodimer is one of 20 farmers and agribusiness professionals selected by the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation (OFBF) to participate in the 2010-2011 AgriPOWER program. Bodimer is employed by Ohio State University Extension-Gallia County as an Agricultural and Natural Resources Program Assistant and has a part-time farming operation consisting of a small sow herd for the production of show pigs.

Bostdorff Selected to Participate in Intensive Agricultural Leadership Program

COLUMBUS, Ohio (OFBF) - Bowling Green resident Shirlee Bostdorff is one of 20 farmers and agribusiness professionals selected by the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation (OFBF) to participate in the 2010-2011 AgriPOWER program. Bostdorff is employed by Norton and Stott, CPA as a tax preparer and accountant. She also serves as a Plain Township fiscal officer. Her family’s farming operation consists of grain farming, a cattle feedlot and a registered Charolais cow-calf herd.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (OFBF) - Marietta resident Sara Camacho is one of 20 farmers and agribusiness professionals selected by the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation (OFBF) to participate in the 2010-2011 AgriPOWER program. Camacho is an agribusiness faculty member at Washington State Community College.

Deaton is employed by Birchwood Genetics, Inc. as a sales and technical service representative.

Dunn is employed by United Producers, Inc., a livestock marketing cooperative, as its marketing and communications specialist.

Hastings is in partnership with her husband, Lad, in their dairy farm, Hastings Dairy, LLC.
