Farm Bureau Announces Local Foods Gift Basket

January 17, 2014

COLUMBUS, Ohio (OFBF) – The Taste From Our Ohio Gift Basket is the newest exclusive benefit for members of the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation (OFBF). The baskets of unique, nonperishable Ohio food items promote local businesses and bring together the food and farm communities. A portion of the proceeds from basket sales will fund youth scholarships and agricultural education projects through the Ohio Farm Bureau Foundation.

Ohio Farm Bureau Delegates Set Policy

COLUMBUS, Ohio (OFBF) – Nutrient management, agricultural drainage and state tax policy were among issues voting delegates addressed at the 95th annual meeting of the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation (OFBF). Delegates also established a committee to study changes to the membership model for the organization.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (OFBF) – Sparky Weilnau of Milan has been re-elected first vice president of Ohio Farm Bureau Federation (OFBF), the second highest elected office in the state’s largest and most influential farm organization. He serves on OFBF’s board of trustees for District 3, representing members from Cuyahoga, Erie, Huron and Lorain counties.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (OFBF) – Frank Burkett III of Massillon has been re-elected treasurer of the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation (OFBF). As treasurer, he holds the third-highest elected office in the state’s largest and most inclusive farm organization. As OFBF trustee for District 9, Burkett represents Farm Bureau members from Columbiana, Mahoning, Portage and Stark counties.
