From its beginnings nearly 100 years ago, Ohio Farm Bureau has been instrumental in economic and rural development. By working together, Farm Bureau members created Nationwide Insurance, farm cooperatives like Landmark and major rural development projects like the Rural Electric Cooperative that brought electricity to rural Ohioans.

Bottom line: Ohio Farm Bureau members worked together and partnered with other organizations to make the quality of life better for farmers and their local communities. These projects and innovations created jobs, brought in revenue that helped pay for schools and roads and so much more by asking two basic questions: “What can we do to make the quality of life better for Ohio farmers and their neighbors?” and “Who can we involve that shares our interests to help us get things done?”

Today, Ohioans need jobs, economic development, additional community revenue and ways to develop rural Ohio to make the quality of life better for farmers and their local communities. Sound familiar?
