To stay at the top a company has to continually adapt, which often means playing a powerful role in the community, economy and on a social level. Without adapting, companies risk being left behind by competitors.
Mike Thiel, food safety manager, The Kroger Co., will speak on the sustainability strategy for one of the nationís largest grocery chains at the Northwest Ohio Ag-Business Breakfast Forum. The program begins at 8 a.m. with informal networking prior, hosted by the Center for Innovative Food Technology (CIFT).
Thiel will focus on operations, government relations and consumer affairs as it relates to food safety in the 124 stores he oversees in Ohio and West Virginia. He is president of the Ohio Association for Food Protection and a member of both the Ohio and National Environmental Health Associations.
He will be accompanied by Marne Fuller, retail operations, The Kroger Co., who focuses on the overall management of all waste removal practices, waste reduction and recycling programs, supply procurement and expense containment.
The Northwest Ohio Ag-Business Breakfast Forum is an educational networking opportunity to provide information on current issues, trends and programs available to the agricultural community and those who support its advancement.
The cost is $10 per person (cash or check at the door) which includes breakfast and networking opportunities. Walk-ins are welcome, but guests are encouraged to reserve a seat in advance by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.†
