Do you have woods on your property? It may seem as if Delaware County is mostly corn and soybeans but according to the USDA Forest Service, about 20 percent of the county is woodland.

Do you want to learn more about your woods or how to manage your woodlot? Would you like to know when and how to sell your trees? How does the Current Agricultural Use Valuation affect your woodland property tax?

If so, mark your calendar for Thursday, April 16 for the Woodland Management Clinic.

The agenda includes:

•Kathy Smith, Ohio State University Extension on “Things to consider when thinking about selling

timber.”

•Steve Siam, Ohio Woodland Services on “How to conduct a timber sale.”

•Barry Ward, Ohio State University Extension on “Timber Tax and CAUV issues.”

•Steve McGinnis with ODNR Division of Forestry on “Getting involved with active management in

your woodland.”

•Denise Shafer with USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service on assistance from USDA.

The registration form is attached. The cost is $10 per person and includes a variety of handouts and light refreshments.

Please reserve by April 14, 2015.
