Animals for Life Foundation now accepting online donations
Since its inception in 2009, the Animals for Life Foundation (AFL Foundation) has been steadily growing in impact and visibility in the animal care discussion.
Continuing to grow its ability to increase public acceptance and recognition that animals bring value to human life in a number of ways and for a number of reasons, the AFL Foundation recently upgraded its website to include a way for individuals and organizations to make financial donations at the click of a mouse.
“Whether they wag their tail for a treat, greet us after a long day of work or provide nourishment for our bodies, animals are essential to our human existence,” said David White, Ohio Farm Bureau Federation senior director of issues management and the Animals for Life Foundation. “Our goal is for agriculture to lead the discussion on animal care and animal agriculture from a mainstream viewpoint and increase consumer trust.”
White said the AFL Foundation also focuses on creating key dialogue between farmers, consumers and others with connections to animals that helps communicate and understand the symbiotic relationship between humans and animals.
AFL Foundation Grants & Outreach
AFL Foundation grants support programs and projects aligning with its mission. From educational projects to electronic and print campaigns, consumers are becoming familiar with the foundation and its purpose.
Examples of work supported by AFL Foundation grants and outreach include a yearlong distance learning program for fifth-grade students in Carroll, Harrison, Jefferson and Tuscarawas counties, a Thanksgiving email campaign in coordination with the Ohio Livestock Coalition and Farmers Feed US thanking Ohioans for putting trust and confidence in the state’s farmers and the Animals for Life Foundation’s “Life is Better With Animals” electronic and print media campaign focusing on what life would be like without animals and how it would affect all aspects of living.
The AFL Foundation is currently accepting applications for its 2011 round of grants through July 1. Download the Animals for Life Foundation request for proposals form or call 614-246-8261 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
