Celebration will honor Ohio State Fair grand champion barrow exhibitor
Bob Evans Restaurants, JD Equipment and the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation (OFBF) will host a community celebration Aug. 20 at a Clark County Bob Evans Restaurant honoring Lea Kimley and her family on their achievement: exhibiting the grand champion barrow at the 2012 Ohio State Fair Sale of Champions.
The three organizations partnered to purchase the grand champion barrow, raised by Kimley of Clark County, at the Sale of Champions Aug. 5. The grand champion barrow sold for $35,000, with the bulk of the proceeds going to support youth contests, scholarships, FFA and 4-H.
The event will celebrate all of Ohio’s agricultural youth and benefit the Animals for Life Foundation which works to increase public acceptance and understanding of human-animal interdependence.
Diners wishing to participate in the fundraiser can present a flyer to donate 15 percent of their dinner bill to Animals for Life Foundation. The event will take place at the Tuttle Road Bob Evans, but the fundraiser will take place at all Clark County Bob Evans locations.
