Supporters celebrate accomplishments of Bobby and Pat Moser

During a gathering to recognize retiring Ohio State University Dean Bobby Moser and his wife Pat, Ohio’s food and farm community raised more than $900,000 to support students in the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences.
The event, sponsored by Ohio Farm Bureau, was the first step in a $5 million fundraising effort to support the newly launched Moser Scholars Program, which celebrates Moser’s accomplishments as the longest-tenured dean at Ohio State.
The program aims to educate and train future generations of leaders for agriculture and related industries. It will support scholarships, study abroad opportunities, experiences beyond the classroom and involvement with distinguished researchers and educators.
“Ohio Farm Bureau is proud to be a part of an effort to prepare a new generation to enter the work force. Bobby and Pat Moser have always put students first, and this program will build upon that legacy,” said Jack Fisher, Ohio Farm Bureau’s executive vice president and an Ohio State trustee.
For more than 20 years, Dr. Moser led CFAES as it transitioned beyond traditional agriculture to include high science with special emphasis on production efficiency, economic stability, environmental compatibility and social responsibility. During that time he led efforts to strengthen research, teaching and outreach.
