Ohio Farm and Food Leadership Forum
New this year is the Ohio Farm and Food Leadership Forum Dec. 4 where more than 20 food and agriculture organizations are collaborating. This is a great opportunity to expand leadership skills by participating in this event. Participants will have the opportunity to attend specialized learning tracks on general leadership, developing board members, technology, and current food and farm issues. Deadline to register is Nov. 27. The goal of the event is to bring together a diverse group of Farm Bureau leaders and other food community partners so that they can learn and network with one another.
Policy development begins at annual meeting Dec. 5. Delegates will develop the organization’s positions on farm and rural issues and are expected to take action on a variety subjects as they establish the official positions for the state’s largest farm organization. One of the major subjects to be debated is discussion of tax policy that will ask delegates to rank their preferences for types of taxes. Delegates will also discuss possible components of a fertilizer applicator certification program, should one be established.
