Petzel named vice president of communications

Ohio Farm Bureau recently named Pat Petzel vice president of communications.
Petzel will lead OFBFís consumer communications, corporate communications and membership marketing programs. OFBF produces or sponsors numerous media products including the Our Ohio television series, magazine, Web site and e-newsletter; Buckeye Farm News newspaper, Town Hall Ohio radio, the ofbf.org Web site and social media channels via Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. Her department also is responsible for media relations and engagement of volunteers through the county Communications Action Teams. The companyís membership marketing efforts offer valuable experiences, products and services to farmers and consumers.
Petzel joined Ohio Farm Bureau in 1992 as a communications specialist, became director of consumer communications in 2001 and was promoted to senior director in 2006. She developed the Our Ohio program as Ohio Farm Bureauís consumer outreach brand and managed its public relations and media campaign designed to raise awareness of Ohio agriculture. Petzel has a bachelorís degree in agriculture communication from Ohio State University and a masterís degree in communication from Ohio Universityís E.W. Scripps School of Journalism. Petzel is originally from Ross County and currently resides in Columbus.
