Issues 1 and 2 featured on Town Hall Ohio
Issues 1 and 2 in the May 4 Primary Election are the featured topics on this week's episode of Town Hall Ohio.
Passage of Issue 1 will renew Ohio's successful Third Frontier program, which has created thousands of high-tech jobs since its inception in 2002. Approval of Issue 2 will amend the Ohio Constitution to relocate the Columbus casino from the Arena District to the site of the former GM/Delphi plant on the city’s west side.
Jo Ann Davidson, former co-chair of the Republican National Committee, and David Wilhelm, former chair of the Democratic National Committee, discuss their mutual support of Issue 1 and the importance of Third Frontier to Ohio's economy. Davidson and Wilhelm lead United for Jobs and Ohio's Future, a bipartisan coalition in support of Issue 1.
Mike Curtin, associate publisher emeritus of the Columbus Dispatch, calls Issue 2 "the simplest proposed state constitutional amendment in Ohio history" and explains why the casino’s relocation will be better for the city and the state. Curtin is the co-chair of Stand Up Columbus, a group in favor of the measure.
Also joining the program is John C. "Jack" Fisher, executive vice president of the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation. OFBF's board of trustees recently endorsed both issues.
Town Hall Ohio is a weekly public affairs discussion program produced by the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation with the financial support of Nationwide Insurance. Programs are available for download at www.townhallohio.org. Town Hall Ohio can also be found on Facebook and on Twitter.
