Full program for OFBF annual meeting
Ohio Farm Bureau will develop its positions on farm and rural issues during the organization’s 92nd annual meeting to be held Dec. 1 to 3 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Columbus.
Scheduled speakers include Ohio State University President E. Gordon Gee, American Farm Bureau Farm Policy Specialist Mary Kay Thatcher who will discuss the farm bill and Ohio Director of Agriculture Robert Boggs who will provide an update on the Ohio Livestock Care Standards Board. Additional session topics include social media and health care reform.
The Ohio Farm Bureau Foundation and the new Animals for Life Foundation are also hosting the sixth annual Rural-Urban Community Auction. The online event will be held Nov. 1 to 30, and the auction will conclude at the annual meeting. Proceeds will support grantsmanship, scholarship and community outreach programs.
Bidding will occur online, at www.ofbf.cmarket.com, on items such as get-away travel packages, home goods, sports memorabilia, collectibles and unique adventure items. More items will continue to be entered into the auction throughout the event. Interested parties are invited to visit the site now for an auction preview and to register as an official bidder.Online bidders can stay involved in the auction through the entire process by using the “Absentee Bidding” option and are also invited to attend the final live session.
