The Ohio Farm Bureau Federation (OFBF) was among 25 state Farm Bureaus that received national recognition at the annual American Farm Bureau Federation (AFBF) Public Relations Conference in Denver this week. In fact, OFBF led all states with eight first-place awards and seven honorable mentions.

The president of the American Farm Bureau Federation called on the House Agriculture Committee to make drastic changes to a climate change bill before it is considered by Congress, telling the committee that to do less could result “in the economic equivalent of unilateral disarmament.”

The American Farm Bureau Federation has said S. 787, the Clean Water Restoration Act, leaves no water unregulated in the United States and could even impact standing water from rain in a dry area.

As issues of animal care are raised in Ohio, Buckeye Farm News wants to understand the views of the 98 percent of people who don't see the world through a farmer's eyes. The goal is to create a starting point for dialogue.
For now, the Senate has agreed with the House to restore some of the funding that was initially cut from Ohio State Extension and the Ohio Agricultural Research and Development Center (OARDC) in the state budget.
