Ohio sheep farmers win national awards, elected to board

$1,000 Ralph Grimshaw Memorial Scholarship available to college-aged sheep producers in Ohio. Applications must be postmarked by July 1, 2011.

The Ohio Sheep Improvement Association is once again offering the Ralph Grimshaw Memorial Scholarship to college-aged sheep producers in 2012. The $1,000 scholarship is available to young people involved sheep production and management in Ohio.
The Ohio Sheep Improvement Association (OSIA) recently received recognition by the American Sheep Industry (ASI) for having the largest increase in membership among 25 state associations with dues of more than $2,000.

There has been a lot of activity in the Ohio sheep industry recently, starting in October with the Ohio Sheep and Wool Program (OSWP) voting to fund several programs for the coming year, and then supporters of the Ohio sheep industry were honored at the Buckeye Shepherd’s Symposium in December.
