Ohio Farm Bureau Federation (OFBF) is awarding an additional $2,500 to a member if selected in the U.S. Farmers and Ranchers Alliance (USFRA) “Faces of Farming and Ranching” search. The deadline to enter is Sept. 8.

Four finalists have been named in Ohio Farm Bureau Federation’s (OFBF) 2012 Discussion Meet. They are Lynnsey Schemrich or Orient, Brad Heimerl of Johnstown, Jon Hensler of Jackson and Christen Clemson of Cortland.

State officials from Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky announced a water quality trading pilot project Aug. 9 in which farmers can sell their credits for pollution reduction to other industrial facilities, aiming to reduce water pollution in the Ohio River.
With the release of the Ohio Clean Lakes Initiative this summer, Ohio Farm Bureau Federation is increasing its education efforts on water quality as well as contributing financially to research on the issue.
