A Hardin County man is awarded $2,500 from Ohio Farm Bureau for providing information leading to the arrest and conviction of an individual committing a crime on Farm Bureau member property.

Ohio Gov. John Kasich announced several new items on the Ohio State Fair agenda for 2011, including a program in which Ohio Farm Bureau is partnering.

Consumer confidence in food safety is at its highest point in seven years, with 88 percent of shoppers 'completely' or 'somewhat' confident in the safety of food at the supermarket, according to the Food Marketing Institute (FMI) U.S. Grocery Shopper Trends report released earlier this month.

In addition to an educational program that will showcase Ohio agriculture for fourth-graders, the Ohio Department of Agriculture is launching an 'Ag is Cool!' multimedia contest.

The Ohio Ag Council will induct the late Edwin J. Carey of Marion, Lester Lynd of Pataskala, Dr. Thomas B. Turner of Somerset and Fred Yoder of Plain City into the Ohio Agricultural Hall of Fame.
If you’ve never attended a county annual meeting, it’s a perfect opportunity to see Farm Bureau in action, to connect with others who believe in the way of life agriculture provides and to give your input on how Farm Bureau can find common ground that benefits you and your community.

More than 250 people, along with members of the media, traveled to the Nichols farm near Cygnet to listen to Dr. Temple Grandin as she presented her views on how livestock farmers should be working with the nonfarm public on animal care education.

Ohio Farm Bureau was recently honored during the American Farm Bureau’s annual public relations conference for several of its communications programs, including editorial and feature writing, social media programming and graphic design.
Concerns about a strain of equine herpevirus (EHV-1), which can lead to abortion in mares, and respiratory and neurological problems as well as death, recently arose after several horses were diagnosed following a Utah event that potentially exposed hundreds of animals.
