Farm Bureau members keep elected officials busy during break

While Congress and the Ohio General Assembly have both been on “break” over the last few weeks, Farm Bureau policy advocacy has been in full swing. Ohio Farm Bureau members have been busy attending town hall meetings, farm tours and discussions with their elected officials, sharing their personal farm stories and how policy is impacting them.

Comment period extended for Food Safety Modernization Act rules

The Food and Drug Administration has extended the comment period to Nov. 15 for the produce safety rule and the preventive controls for human food rule which implement the Food Safety Modernization Act. Ohio Farm Bureau is in the process of drafting comments and is interested in members’ concerns regarding these proposed rules.
