There has been a lot of activity in the Ohio sheep industry recently, starting in October with the Ohio Sheep and Wool Program (OSWP) voting to fund several programs for the coming year, and then supporters of the Ohio sheep industry were honored at the Buckeye Shepherd’s Symposium in December.

The Ohio Sheep Improvement Association is once again offering the Ralph Grimshaw Memorial Scholarship to college-aged sheep producers in 2012. The $1,000 scholarship is available to young people involved sheep production and management in Ohio.

Ohio Sheep and Goat Web Programs throughout February

The Ohio Sheep Improvement Association is again partnering with Ohio State University Extension to sponsor the 2014 Sheep and Goat Web series, a training and informational program for farmers. The Web series will assist sheep and goat farmers in becoming better managers and provide advice to those interested in entering this growing industry.
