Ohio Farm Bureau is directed by its members. They define the positions the organization takes on issues affecting farmers and rural residents through an annual policy development process. The grassroots process leads to the creation of policy positions that guide legislative and regulatory action.

Legislation has been introduced in the Ohio Statehouse to make capital appropriations for the current biennium, and funding for Clean Ohio Agricultural Easements was not included in the legislation.Ohio Farm Bureau staff continues to work on alternative vehicles for this priority.

Ohio Farm Bureau Federation’s policy development process has begun and will continue through December. One part of the policy development process, advisory teams, has been meeting throughout March.

After 10 years of holding as many as 14 live demonstration programs throughout the state, sheep and goat farmers in Ohio now have a way to keep more farmers across the state up-to-date on the latest sheep and goat information.

Members of the Ohio Republican congressional delegation submitted a letter and a booklet of hundreds of comments to Labor Secretary Hilda Solis from constituents who oppose the proposed rulemaking that would limit the activities children can participate in on family farms.
