The Ohio Department of Natural Resources, the Ohio Department of Agriculture and the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency today announced their recommendations for reducing excess agricultural nutrients from affecting or entering the western basin of Lake Erie.

Ohio Department of Agriculture Director Daniels and other agriculture leaders celebrated Ohio Agriculture Day Thursday with visits to three Ohio agribusinesses: Blue Grass Farms, Central Ohio Logistics Center, and Feed the World, LLC. All three play a large role in Ohio’s global agriculture reach.

An emphasis was put on giving back and getting involved at the Ohio Farm Bureau’s annual Young Agricultural Professionals Leadership Conference, held March 9-10 in Columbus. Donations were made to Mid-Ohio Foodbank and Farmers and Hunters Feeding the Hungry. Workshops aloso were held.

To raise awareness of companies registered and doing business in Ohio, Ohio Secretary of State John Husted highlights Ohio businesses each month on the Ohio Business Profile website. Ohio Farm Bureau encourages its members to submit nominations.
