Five of Ohio's top conservation farm families for 2012 were recognized during a ceremony at Farm Science Review in London Sept. 20 for their long-standing dedication to natural resource conservation on their farms. The annual Conservation Farm Family Award is sponsored by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources’ (ODNR) Division of Soil and Water Resources, Ohio Farmer magazine and Ohio Farm Bureau Federation (OFBF).

Multistate plan to benefit farmers, improve water quality

State officials from Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky announced a water quality trading pilot project Aug. 9 in which farmers can sell their credits for pollution reduction to other industrial facilities, aiming to reduce water pollution in the Ohio River.

Fun, hands-on agricultural experiences are the centerpiece of Ohio Farm Bureau’s exhibit at the Ohio State Fair. Last year the 'Land and Living' exhibit located in the Nationwide Donahey Ag & Hort Building drew an estimated 350,000 visitors who learned about agriculture’s link to everyday life.
