The second phase of Ohio’s extensive natural gas and oil exploration is now underway. Landowners across the state are being asked to sign off on pipeline easements, which means a new round of contract negotiations.

The American Farm Bureau Federation’s Board of Directors has appointed three new members to serve on the AFBF General Counsel Advisory Committee through 2011. AFBF has a distinguished history of selective participation in litigation matters that implement and advance Farm Bureau’s policies.
With an anticipated 140,000 visitors to the Farm Science Review, Ohio Farm Bureau hopes to draw not only new OFBF members but supporters for creating the Ohio Livestock Care Standards Board.
Total donations to the most significant domestic and international animal-rights groups reached nearly $330 million in 2007.

Farm Bureau members are asked to remind lawmakers of the direct link between water quality and the amount of state money invested in OSU Extension, ATI and OARDC, the Ohio Sea Grant program, the National Center of Water Quality Research at Heidelberg University, Ohio Department of Agriculture and Ohio Department of Natural Resources’ Division of Soil and Water Resources.

Last summer, Ohio Farm Bureau reached gain for its 41st consecutive year under the new full-year membership campaign approach. The new campaign style allows volunteers to work on selling memberships as they have time.
