The Ohio Ag Council will induct the late Edwin J. Carey of Marion, Lester Lynd of Pataskala, Dr. Thomas B. Turner of Somerset and Fred Yoder of Plain City into the Ohio Agricultural Hall of Fame.

More than 250 people, along with members of the media, traveled to the Nichols farm near Cygnet to listen to Dr. Temple Grandin as she presented her views on how livestock farmers should be working with the nonfarm public on animal care education.

Concerns about a strain of equine herpevirus (EHV-1), which can lead to abortion in mares, and respiratory and neurological problems as well as death, recently arose after several horses were diagnosed following a Utah event that potentially exposed hundreds of animals.
