Gahler COLUMBUS, Ohio (OFBF) - Ohio Farm Bureau Federation (OFBF) has named Allen Gahler as the new organization director for Sandusky County effective April 4.

Gahler, OFBF’s organization director for Lucas, Ottawa and Wood counties, adds Sandusky County to his territory upon the retirement of current Organization Director Robin Bessire, who has served Sandusky County Farm Bureau members for the last 14 years.

As organization director, Gahler acts as a liaison between the state and county Farm Bureaus, where he works to involve, develop and enhance leaders while managing objectives to improve the effectiveness of the organization.

Born and raised on an Ottawa County grain and cattle farm, Gahler is a graduate of Ohio State University with a bachelor’s degree in agriculture and a master’s degree in agricultural education. Gahler and his wife, Susan, reside in Graytown.

“Allen has been doing a great job as a new organization director. We are confident in his people and leadership skills and his agricultural knowledge will serve Sandusky County well,” said John Wargowsky, OFBF senior director of field communications.

Gahler and Bessire will work together to assure a smooth and orderly transition.

“We appreciate the years of service and leadership that Robin has provided Farm Bureau and wish her the best in her retirement years,” Wargowsky said.
