COLUMBUS, Ohio (OFBF) - Ohio Farm Bureau Federation (OFBF) has named Jennifer Smith as organization director for Paulding, Putnam and Van Wert counties in northwest Ohio.

The Antwerp resident’s primary duties will be to work with the county Farm Bureaus to involve, develop and enhance leaders while managing objectives to improve the effectiveness of the organization. She will serve as a liaison between the county Farm Bureaus and OFBF.

Smith most recently worked as an education adviser for DeVry University, where she actively recruited students to the school. She was also an intern with Walt Disney World’s Animal Kingdom, where she taught three different programs on conservation, careers and wildlife.

Smith serves the agricultural community as a 4-H adviser for the Flat Rock Jr. Farmers 4-H Club, and was active in FFA, where she earned her American FFA degree and was District 4 FFA president. She has a bachelor’s degree in agricultural education from Ohio State University and is a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jenera.

"Jennifer brings a lot of enthusiasm to the position. Her previous experience with volunteers in the agriculture industry will serve the members of our organization well," said John Wargowsky, OFBF senior director of field communications.
