National Animal Identification System (NAIS)
USDA has launched a new website for the National Animal Identification System. The redesigned website, www.usda.gov/nais, contains press releases, notices and other information most current and relevant to the development and implementation of the National Animal Identification System. The new website is geared to be more user-friendly and to provide one central location where accurate, updated information about the NAIS can be obtained. The site offers:
- A new section, "NAIS Library," that organizes all the relevant print materials USDA has issued regarding the NAIS.
- A new page, "NAIS Myths and Facts," that responds to common misinformation regarding the NAIS.
- Content that shows not just what the NAIS is, but why it is important.
- Text that presents the NAIS with greater clarity and brevity.
- A dropdown feature at the top of each page that allows users to navigate the site easily.
- An "I want to" feature that allows users to access popular information quickly.
- Quick downloads of key NAIS documents.
- Links to each State's premises registration page.
- Weekly updates of each State's total registered premises.
- More immediate access to the NAIS program staff and species working groups.
